Palestinian Civil Defense Worker Clings to Killed Friend in Heartbreaking Farewell
October 9, 2026
“LET ME HAVE MORE TIME. I WILL NEVER SEE HIM AGAIN.”
A Palestinian Civil Defense worker holds on to his friend and refuses to let go.
Mohammed Tamous was a Civil Defense rescuer in northern Gaza. This morning, Israeli aircraft targeted him while he was doing his humanitarian duty. He was a man whose whole job was pulling strangers out of the rubble, and now his colleagues are the ones saying goodbye.
His friend can’t let him go. He begs for just a little more time, because he knows this is the last time he will ever see him.
The people who run toward the bombs to save others are being killed for it. And another family and another team are left with a farewell no one should have to say.
