“The AIPAC Era Is Over”: 62% of Americans Oppose Aid to Israel
October 16, 2026THE AIPAC ERA IS OVER.
AMERICA JUST TOLD WASHINGTON: STOP WRITING ISRAEL A BLANK CHECK
Here’s the number TrackAIPAC is pointing to: 62% of Americans, across party lines, now want US military aid to Israel conditioned or cut off entirely.
Not young activists. Not one party. Across party lines.
And the shift isn’t only about money. A growing share of voters, especially in the early presidential primary states, believe Israel is committing genocide in Gaza. For them, Gaza has become the test. How a candidate answers on AIPAC and Gaza tells voters whether they have the moral compass to be trusted on anything else.
For decades, politicians were taught that crossing AIPAC was political suicide. Now the voters have flipped the equation. Taking AIPAC’s side against your own voters is the risk.
AIPAC knows it. It’s still rich, organized and dangerous, but it’s already changing its tactics to survive.
So the fight isn’t over, and TrackAIPAC says it’s not enough to cheer. A mandate for change that isn’t turned into organization gets rolled back. Build it so well that nobody can undo it.
The people are ahead of the politicians. Time to make the politicians catch up.

I like to say the apex era is over. I believe that. The data is in, okay? 62% of Americans across party lines now support conditioning or even eliminating U.S. military aid to Israel entirely. A fast growing number of voters, and especially in early presidential primary states, believe that Israel is committing genocide in Gaza. That number needs to be higher, but it is climbing. Gaza has become a litmus test. Voters use a candidate’s position on AIPAC in Gaza to decide whether a politician has the basic moral compass to be trusted about anything. The ground has fundamentally shifted. I like to say the AIPAC era is over. I believe that. Don’t get me wrong. They’re still a very formidable, sophisticated and very well-funded opponent. But there is no going back to the old way of doing things for AIPAC. And they know it. They’re changing their tactics. They’re adapting on the fly. And for our part, we’re adapting as well. But that is what makes this moment so important, because movements that change history have to adapt, have to keep building. We have to take momentum and the mandate for change and turn it into organization. We have to create a new normal that nobody can roll back.
