Jason Alexander Says Palestinian Reassurance Changed His Fears About Entering Ramallah as a Jew
October 24, 2026“I’M A JEW. I WAS AFRAID TO GO TO RAMALLAH.”
In 2004, Jason Alexander travelled to Ramallah, in the occupied West Bank, and he says he was afraid. He’s Jewish, and he’d absorbed everything he’d heard about what Palestinians thought of people like him.
What happened next is why the clip is travelling. A Palestinian man told him that if anyone tried to hurt him, they would take a bullet to protect him. He was an invited guest, and in the man’s eyes that settled everything.
No politics, no speech, no negotiation. Just a basic rule of hospitality, from someone who had every reason to look at him with suspicion.
It’s a small moment, and it says something big. Fear of a whole people is usually taught. And it tends to fall apart the moment you actually meet them.
For anyone who’s been told an entire population is an enemy, this is worth four minutes of your day.
