Amid the investigation, includes a new set of sanctions including travel bans and asset freezes, targeting three individuals and four groups linked to settler violence in the occupied West Bank.
The move builds on earlier Australian sanctions against far-right Israeli ministers Itamar Ben-Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich and comes amid mounting international scrutiny of Israel’s actions in Palestine.
The announcement follows criticism of Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong after her response to questions on Israeli persecution of Palestinians drew backlash from Senator David Shoebridge.
