Al Jazeera Anchor: Our correspondent Imran Khan is standing by, in southern Lebanon. Hello Imran, and what more do we know about this particular incident?
Imran Khan: Well, let me show you where I am. This is what used to be a villa, where the journalists were staying. This was a compound, shared by many different news organizations, and it was about 3:30 a.m. when the missile actually hit. Take a look at that utter devastation that you can see there. I heard the missile, and we tried to figure out what was going on. We didn’t think it was going to be this particular compound that was hit. Like I say, many, many different journalists and news organizations are staying here, all from the local Lebanese television, and my colleagues at Al Jazeera Arabic. Now, three people have been killed in this massive attack, including two cameraman and a satellite engineer. The families haven’t been informed. We don’t think yet, so I’m not naming them. We’re not naming their news organizations that were here as well. But let me just tell you, these were people that I worked with, almost every single day, we would all go down to the live location where we’d set up, relative safety that we thought, and there were people that, you know, I would say hello to. This is a place that’s not under evacuation order. There are no orders issued by Israel for Hezbollah. There was no warning given. This is, I mean, it’s a shocking, shocking state of affairs. And, the devastation is almost total when it comes to this particular area. And like I say, this was just journalists who were actually sleeping at 3:30 a.m., having done a very long day’s work covering the war.
