قُتل الدكتور حمام علوه، كبير أطباء الكلى في مستشفى الشفاء بغزة، في غارة جوية إسرائيلية مُستهدفة، بعد أسبوعين فقط من انتشار مقابلته الأخيرة الجريئة على نطاق واسع عالميًا. عندما سأله صحفيون غربيون عن سبب رفضه الانصياع لأوامر الجيش الإسرائيلي بالفرار إلى الجنوب، كشف حقيقةً فضحتها وحشية الاحتلال.
أمضى الدكتور علوه 14 عامًا في التدريب لبناء برامج زراعة الكلى وغسيل الكلى في غزة، ورفض التخلي عن مرضاه ليواجهوا الموت في ظلام دامس. فضّل قسم أبقراط على سلامته، وبقي في الخطوط الأمامية بينما كان الجيش الإسرائيلي المدعوم من الولايات المتحدة يُحوّل المجمعات الطبية إلى مقابر. قُتل مع والده عندما سقط صاروخ دقيق على منزله أثناء غيابه للحظات عن جناحه.
