This is a time of truth for Lebanon. Either we stand together tomorrow and march for peace,
for a ceasefire in Gaza, for justice, for international law to be obeyed and enforced, for humanity, OR we stay silent and look like we are silently condoning the inhumane, violence of Israel against the civilians of Gaza.
We must NEVER FORGET July 2006. We must remember how the world and Palestine rallied
to our defence when we were the victims of Israel’s aggression and disproportionate response. If we don’t come out in FORCE on Friday we will deserve NO sympathy or support if and when Israel decides to expand their aggression against US.

No one’s going to care because we didn’t care. We have to care about what’s happening to our country. We have to be aware of what’s happening to us right now and what the future looks like. The future does not look good. So I’m going to say this in Arabic, using the best Arabic I have and say: I encourage you with all my heart and all my strength, dear Lebanese people to go into the streets tomorrow and join us in Martyrs’ Square and Ain El Mreisseh, because if we don’t stand up and say that we want a ceasefire, and an end to the crime committed against Gaza, they will come to us and start attacking us. We need to stand up now and show the entire world that we don’t want war, we want peace and we don’t want Israel to draw us into a war that isn’t in our interest. Please, I ask you to go into the streets tomorrow and join us.
