ASTONISHING ANTI-ISRAFL SPEECH AT OSCARS!
March 11, 2024WHAT A POWERFUL & MORAL MOVE!
Screenwriter and Actor, Jonathan Glazer called for an end to the attacks on Gaza during his acceptance speech at the Oscars yesterday.
“Right now we stand here as men who refute their Jewishness and the Holocaust being hijacked by an occupation which has led to conflict for so many innocent people, whether the victims of October 7 in Israel or the ongoing attack in Gaza” Glazer said as he accepted the award for best international film for “The Zone of Interest”.
UNPRECEDENTED and HONOURABLE!!
We need more courageous people to stand in their respective fields and CALL ISRAEL OUT FOR DESTROYING OUR HUMANITY!!
Earlier in the day, Ramy Youssef, screenwriter and director, commended the many artists attending the ceremony wearing the red ceasefire pins.
“This is for Artists for Ceasefire” about the pin.
“We have a growing list of so many artists who want a permanent immediate ceasefire in Gaza,” the actor added.
“We’re calling for peace and justice, lasting justice for the people of Palestine. I think it’s a universal message of just ‘let’s stop killing kids’, no one’s ever looked back at war and thought a bombing campaign was a good idea.”

English Script:
And the Oscar goes to… The Zone of Interest. This is the third nomination for the United Kingdom. The Zone of Interest is the ninth non English language film to be nominated for both international feature film and best picture in the same year.
Jonathan Glazer: Thank you so much. I’m going to read, I’m afraid. Thank you to the Academy for this honor and to our partners A24 film for access and the Polish Film Institute to the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum for their trust and guidance. To my producers, actors, collaborators, all our choices were made to reflect and confront us in the present. Not to say, Look what they did then, rather look what we do now. Our film shows where dehumanization leads at its worst. It shaped all of our past and present. Right now we stand here as men who refute their Jewishness and the Holocaust being hijacked by an occupation which has led to conflict for so many innocent people. Whether the victims of October… Whether the victims of October the seventh in Israel or the ongoing attack on Gaza, all the victims of this dehumanization, how do we resist?
Ramy Youssef: A bunch of us are wearing these Artists4Ceasefire pins. We’re calling for…
Interviewer: Yeah tell me about the pin.
Ramy Youssef: Yeah, we’re calling for immediate permanent ceasefire in Gaza. We’re calling for peace and justice, lasting justice for the people of Palestine. And I think it’s a universal message of just let’s stop killing kids. Let’s not be part of more war. No one’s ever looked back at war and thought a bombing campaign was a good idea. And so to be surrounded by so many artists who are willing to lend their voice. The list is growing. A lot of people are going to be wearing these pins tonight and it’s because we want to kind of use where we’re at to speak the people’s hearts. You know, it’s a lot of talking heads on the news. This is a space of talking hearts and so we’re trying to just kind of have that big beam to humanity.
