How do you know it’s an occupation?
When another power can dictate if you can pray or not!
Put yourself in the shoes of a Palestinian Muslim wanting to observe their religious duties and pray as the holiest month in their Ramadan begins. No different to a Christian wanting to attend Mass at Easter or a Jew a synagogue at Yom Kippur.
During Ramadan it is a religious ritual to spend this holy month filled with prayer and worship. But in Israel attending the third holiest site in Islam, the Al-Aqsa Mosque, is prohibited, even though Prime Minister Netanyahu publicly announced last week that Muslims would be allowed to attend the holy site without restriction.
And on the very first day of Ramadan, this promise was exposed as a lie as Israeli military and security personnel pushed, shoved, blocked and beat muslim worshippers trying to enter the mosque to pray.
Instead, at least 20 Palestinians were arrested under suspicion of inciting terrorism.
This is occupation. This is colonisation. This is TERRORISM!
Let the Palestinians practice their religion freely!
Yet, in Rafah, the resilience of the Palestinian people remains high! As seen, despite their adversity, the killlings and the threat of an all-out invasion, the people stopped to pay homage to God.
THEIR FAITH IS WHAT GIVES THEM THE STRENGTH AND THE WILL TO KEEP BELIEVING THAT ONE DAY THIS NIGHTMARE WILL END!
