U.S.A IS THE UGLY FACE OF UNITED NATIONS
April 17, 2024Maltese politician Evarist Bartolo, a prominent member of the Labor Party and former Minister for European & Foreign Affairs, delivered a bold critique of the United States foreign policy at the World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting in Davos, last January.
He began his address with a metaphor, stating, “If you have an ugly face, don’t blame the mirror”.
According to Bartolo, the “ugly face” in this analogy is not the United Nations, but rather the position of the UNITED STATES in supporting the Israeli Occupation and allowing it to act with IMPUNITY.
“The United States, for all these years, has supported Israel and let it do whatever it likes, I think even against the interests of Israel and Israelis. So, you know, it’s this problem,” Ambassador Bartolo stated.
Bartolo should be recognised and applauded for his bravery. Bravo!
The international system is as good as the most powerful states. Right now, the US has shown its true IMMORAL colours in its support of Israel and has destroyed its reputation and that of the UN.
