Israel killed 3 Israeli hostages in botched Gaza raid, hid it from public
September 15, 2024Israeli forces killed three Israeli captives, including two soldiers, during a raid on Palestine’s Gaza in December last year and concealed it from the public, local Israeli media reported on September 9.
Israel’s Channel 12 said the three captives – Nik Beizer, Ron Sherman and Elia Toledano – were killed in an Israeli air strike that targeted a senior military leader of the Palestinian resistance group Hamas in northern Gaza.
According to the channel, Israeli forces had known the details of the deaths since February but chose not to make them public.
In mid-December, Israeli forces reported retrieving the bodies of three Israelis captured alive by Hamas on October 7, and spokesperson Daniel Hagari stated that an investigation into their deaths is ongoing, with results to be shared with their families.
Israel also announced similar incidents of killing Israeli captives in the course of its devastating bombardments across besieged Gaza since October 7.
Israel has been accused of killing dozens of its own citizens under the ‘Hannibal Directive’ during its failed response to October 7, while Palestinian sources also claim that Israel’s indiscriminate bombardment of Gaza led to many hostage deaths.
