US Turns on Lebanon’s Army Chief After LAF Condemns Israeli Ceasefire Violations
November 23, 2025
Apparently, Washington is no longer pleased with Lebanon’s Army Commander and the reason says everything about US intentions.
On November 18, the US canceled scheduled meetings with LAF chief General Rudolf Haykal after the A-my condemned ongoing Israeli violations of the ceasefire, including attacks on UNIFIL
• US-backed Lebanese media launched a smear campaign, branding Haykal “aligned with Hez-ollah” and demanding his resignation .
•Senator Joni Ernst attacked the LAF folar with the
“shamefully directing blame at Israel,” proving that even basic sovereignty is unacceptable when it contradicts Washington’s script.
• This comes amid escalating US-Israeli Washington economic and political pressure targeting the res-stance community through Lebanon’s central bank and allied ministers.
• Meanwhile, PM Nawaf Salam signals openness to negotiations, only to be brushed aside by Israel and now turns to Washington for “help” with Tel Aviv, as if the two aren’t partners in the same project.
Lebanon’s choice is becoming clearer: sovereignty with a price, or dependency with no dignity.
