“Not One of Our Soldiers”: Belgium’s Paul Magnette Rejects Support for U.S.–Israel War on Iran
March 10, 2026
“NOT ONE OF OUR SOLDIERS. NOT ONE OF OUR WEAPONS.”
BELGIUM IS JOINING A GROWING EUROPEAN PUSHBACK AGAINST THE U.S.–ISRAELI WAR ON IRAN.
Belgian politician Paul Magnette, leader of Belgium’s Socialist Party, has called on his country to refuse any military participation in the escalating conflict declaring that Belgium should send “not one of our soldiers, not one of our weapons” to support the war.
His statement comes as European divisions deepen over the widening Middle East conflict. Earlier this week, Spain openly refused to cooperate with U.S. military operations against Iran, rejecting pressure from Washington and warning that the war could destabilize the region and the world.
Spain’s government even denied U.S. access to shared military bases on its territory, insisting it would not be complicit in a war it considers dangerous and unjustified.
FROM MADRID TO BRUSSELS,
A MESSAGE IS EMERGING ACROSS PARTS OF EUROPE:
THIS IS NOT OUR WAR.

Paul Magnette: Not one of our soldiers, not one of our weapons for Trump’s war on Iran. We must do like Pedro Sanchez and say no to Trump. Trump has chosen Netanyahu as his ally, a war criminal responsible for the genocide in Gaza. Trump has decided to use brute force in violation of all the principles of international law. And the result, we can see it: the entire region is catching fire. It is chaos. History is repeating itself once again. We Europeans are already seeing gas and oil prices soar.
