Lebanon Calls on UN and Global Community to Support the Country’s Survival
March 14, 2026
Speaking at Lebanon 2026 Flash Appeal, Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam urged the international community to respond to the country’s growing humanitarian crisis.
Salam said Lebanon urgently needs coordinated humanitarian assistance, including medical supplies, food, shelter, and fuel to keep critical infrastructure functioning. But he stressed that aid alone is not enough.
He also called for sustained diplomatic engagement to halt the escalation of violence, restore stability, and revive hopes for a just and lasting peace in the region.
“For Lebanon, this is a moment of survival,” Salam said. “For the international community, it is a moment of responsibility. History will judge us not by the words we speak, but by the hope we seed.”
