China and Spain Reject ‘Law of the Jungle’ as Xi Jinping and Pedro Sánchez Strengthen Ties

REJECT THE LAW OF THE JUNGLE
The rules are changing. In a massive meeting at the Great Hall of the People, President Xi Jinping and PM Pedro Sánchez just sent a loud message to the world: the “rule of power” is out, and international law is back in.
As global turmoil hits a breaking point, with the U.S.-Iran conflict spiraling and the Middle East in flames, China and Spain are forming a united front. Xi warned that we can’t let the world slide back into the “law of the jungle” where the biggest bully wins. Instead, they’re pushing for true multilateralism and actual cooperation.
Spain is stepping up as a key bridge between China and the EU, signing 15 new deals on everything from green energy to trade. But it wasn’t just about business, Sánchez pushed for China to take the lead in ending the wars in Gaza and Lebanon, calling the current violence unsustainable.
While some leaders are choosing isolation and threats, Beijing and Madrid are choosing the rule of law. The message is clear: the future of the global order shouldn’t be decided by whoever has the biggest bombs.

Xi Jinping: I am very pleased to meet you again, Prime Minister Sanchez. This is your first visit to China in four years. The world today is in turmoil and disorder. How a country approaches international law and the international order reflects its worldview, values and its approach to order and responsibility. China and Spain are both principled countries that value justice, and are willing to stand on the right side of history. We should strengthen communication, deepen mutual trust and enhance cooperation. We must oppose a return of the world to the “law of the jungle”, uphold true multilateralism, and safeguard global peace and development.
