A graduating student at University of Texas at Dallas raised a Palestinian flag and displayed a banner calling for divestment during a commencement ceremony, in protest over university-linked investments and the war in Gaza.
Videos circulating online appear to show university staff attempting to block the display and obstruct cameras during the demonstration.
The protest comes amid a wider wave of pro-Palestine student activism across U.S. campuses, with demonstrators demanding universities cut financial ties with companies allegedly connected to Israel’s military operations in Gaza.
