The European Union has announced plans to ban entry for Russian soldiers involved in the war in Ukraine.
Yet critics continue to question why similar measures have not been pursued against Israeli officials or military personnel despite widespread international scrutiny over Israel’s actions in Gaza.
If accountability is a principle, it must be applied consistently.
Human rights cannot depend on politics. International law cannot be selective. And justice loses its meaning when it is enforced against some while ignored for others.
The world is watching.
