Report Claims Hundreds of Thousands of Young Children Have Died in Gaza Conflict

For nearly two years, the world has been told that more than 55,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza. But growing research suggests the true number may be far higher.
A study published in the medical journal The Lancet estimated that Gaza’s Ministry of Health underreported deaths by 41% during the first nine months of Israel’s assault, placing the death toll at more than 64,000 by June 2024 alone.
When those findings are projected forward, estimates point to more than 136,000 violent deaths by April 2025. And even that figure excludes thousands who may have died from starvation, disease, lack of medical care, unsafe water, and the collapse of essential infrastructure.
Behind every statistic is a human life. A child. A mother. A father. A family erased.
The question is no longer how many have died.
