Believe it or not, this is my first time in a church in about 3 or 4 years. I’ve actually been in a mosque more recently. See, my mom is Irish and my dad was Iranian, so when I was little I used to pray in churches all the time. And then when we moved to Iran, I would pay at a mosque, to me, there was never any difference. Christians and Muslims always seem the exact same to me. Just normal people hoping for a better life, wishing health, happiness and love upon the people that they care about. We live in a world that’s so divided by hatred and money that people think that if you’re a Jewish or if you’re Muslim, or if you’re a Christian, that you are a completely different person with very different morals and sets of values, but we forget that. I mean, all three of those one specifically come from the Abrahamic religions. And yes, they’re different. Just like some people at home. Some people are small, some people have brown skin, some people have white skin, but we’re all still the same underneath it all. I mean, you look at the five pillars of Islam and the Ten Commandments so much about religion points towards loving my neighbor, towards being a kind, generous, hospitable, loving human being and yet always seem to be doing nowadays is using religion to perpetrate evil, to massacre entire peoples. And it just makes no sense. Because and this is something I’ve never understood, is that if you genuinely believe in God, then how for one second could you imagine that he would be happy with you using his name and in order to kill people? And if I’m wrong, and if God is the type of being who would be happy that people are using his name to kill others, then is that really the type of god that you want to be worshiping? Honestly, I hope not, because one of the things about us humans is that no matter where you come from, no matter how you look, no matter what God you pray to, whether you pray to any, we all just want the same thing. We just want to love and be loved.
