Watch journalist Mark Istook (@marcistook ) completely dismantle Natalie Jangula (@idahomagamom ) after she threw a viral xenophobic temper tantrum telling a Muslim shopper to “go back to your country”—without even realizing the video was shot in Rochdale, England!
A Muslim creator named Zak asked why a local Tesco (where 2/3 of the neighborhood is Muslim) had a small Halal section. @idahomagamom instantly jumped online to scream: “Because you’re in America! If you don’t like it, LEAVE!”
THE EMBARRASSING REALITY:
Tesco isn’t even in the U.S. (It left over a decade ago).
The prices were literally in British Pounds (£).
The guy had a British accent.
Britain literally colonized South Asia and invited Commonwealth citizens to help rebuild post-WWII UK.
And instead of apologizing when called out on her total ignorance, Natalie Jangula doubled down on her anti-immigrant rant!
Xenophobia doesn’t just make people hateful—it makes them utterly, spectacularly stupid.

Marc Istook: Oh, with an intro like that, you know this is going to be good.
Zak: Why do we get only this little section here? And they get all of this and all of that?
Idaho Maga Mom: Oh, because you’re in America? Because these are our grocery stores. These are the foods that we eat. If you don’t like it, good news. You’re in America. You can leave whenever you want.
Marc Istook: It must be so exhausting telling other people to leave your country, that you forget to check and see if they were even in your country to begin with. Now some people ask me like, why give a video like this any oxygen? It’s because Idaho Maga Mom’s original video has more than 130,000 views. And I think this kind of hateful rhetoric deserves to be called out, especially because she missed a few details that point out that this guy isn’t even in America, like his accent or the fact that in the video you can see the prices are in pounds, not dollars. Or his other videos that show he lives in Rochdale, a town outside the city of Manchester in the UK. But when somebody points out the grocery store he’s at isn’t even in the United States. Instead of an apology or retraction video, she doubles down.
Unknown girl: But Tesco is in the UK and I believe Ireland.
Idaho Maga Mom: It has also been in California, Nevada and Arizona.
Marc Istook: No, they haven’t. Which she’d know if she’d done even five minutes of research. So Tesco brought a subsidiary fresh and easy to the US back in 2006, but they pulled out back in 2013, which is more than ten years ago. But why let facts get in the way of a good deportation rant? Instead, she triples down.
Idaho Maga Mom: Whether this guy’s video is in the UK or the US, the argument is still the same. If you are upset that a grocery store does not have enough of your native food that you like, you can leave. You can go back to your country.
Marc Istook: Again, had she been even the least bit curious, she’d have read the bottom of his post that he’s asking about the halal offerings of the grocery store, given that he lives in a muslim majority town, and maybe she’d have looked up the UK census records showing central Rochdale is two thirds Muslim, and maybe she’d have seen his videos referencing that he’s South Asian, showing the flags of India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. And maybe she’d read about the history of British colonialism and how Britain directly ruled the Indian subcontinent in some form of fashion for almost 200 years, and how after World War two, Britain actively recruited labor from there to help rebuild Britain and gave those Commonwealth citizens the legal right to live and work in Britain. So she wants a guy with a background from a country that was ruled by Britain, who lives in a city in Britain filled with other people like him that were recruited to live there by Britain, to go back to the country that Britain once ruled. I’d say to make it make sense, but it never will.
