Sen. Chris Van Hollen Says Netanyahu Should Not Be Allowed Near the Oval Office
July 30, 2026
Maryland Senator Chris Van Hollen (@chrisvanhollen ) pulls zero punches, torching the decision to host wanted war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House for their 8th meeting.
“He is wanted for war crimes, with a warrant out for his arrest. He should be nowhere near the Oval Office.”, he said.
U.S. citizens remain unlawfully detained or killed by military forces and armed settlers in the West Bank with ZERO justice.
Over 265 children killed in Gaza and hundreds more injured despite ceasefire.
As Van Hollen pointed out: Netanyahu is wanted on an international arrest warrant for war crimes. Giving him a red carpet in Washington isn’t diplomacy, it’s a shameful betrayal of human rights and American principles.
Stop platforming war criminals. ✊🏽

Chris Van Hollen: President Trump is scheduled to have his at least eight meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu today, far more than any other leader. As I speak, the Israeli government is wrongfully detaining an American citizen. As I speak, we’ve not been able to get justice for American citizens killed by violent Israeli settlers, or by the IDF on the West Bank. As I speak, Palestinians on the West Bank are under violent assault by Israeli terrorists who are terrorizing Palestinian villages, lighting mosques on fire, torching cars, pushing Palestinians off their lands, killing innocent Palestinians. Meanwhile, in Gaza, where supposedly a ceasefire is in place, Israeli forces have killed over 265 kids and injured hundreds more. When Donald Trump meets with Bibi Netanyahu, things don’t go well for the United States of America. Prime Minister Netanyahu convinced Donald Trump to launch an illegal war against Iran. Right now, five months later, it’s American forces, American soldiers who are being killed and injured in the war in Iran. On top of all that, Prime Minister Netanyahu has a warrant out for his arrest for committing war crimes. He should be nowhere close to the Oval Office of the president of the United States.
