WHICH ONE IS WORSE?
2 buildings. Roughly 3,000 dead. The whole world stopped. Wars were launched. Laws were rewritten. Two decades of global consequence.
134,000+ buildings. Over 72,000 dead — nearly 20,000 of them children. Silence, for the most part. Arms deals continued. Vetoes were cast at the UN. “Complicated,” we were told.
Same math. Same word — terrorism — applied to one and quietly withheld from the other, depending on whose flag is doing the killing.
If scale, intent, and civilian death are what make something an act of terror, then ask yourself honestly: why does only one of these get remembered as an atrocity, and the other gets called a war?
No answer to that question survives basic consistency.
