That’s what Laura Loomer said, arguing Muslims shouldn’t be allowed in American politics, and floating that another terrorist attack might be the thing that convinces people. Nine years after the actual 9/11, that’s her argument.
Ana Kasparian didn’t let it slide: when Hasan Piker made an offensive comment about America and 9/11, he got dragged through the news cycle for weeks and apologized. Loomer casually wishes for a repeat of the deadliest terrorist attack in US history to push an anti-Muslim agenda — and gets a pass. Her question cut right to it: is this about protecting America, or about which group is allowed to be dehumanized out loud?
Tucker Carlson, mid-feud with Loomer over Israel, wasn’t about to defend her either, he’s already called her “a child wielding a loaded firearm called Twitter.”
When wishing for mass death gets less backlash than a joke about Macklemore saying “Free Palestine,” you know exactly which speech is actually being policed.
