“We Can See Palestinian Liberation in the Future”: Young Israelis Condemn Government “Fascism” and Envision Shared Future With Palestinians
October 28, 2026“WE CAN SEE PALESTINIAN LIBERATION IN THE FUTURE”
Two days before Israelis voted, Channel 5’s cameras were at a rally against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Among the crowd were young Israelis who say what many in the country’s politics still won’t.
They call out what they describe as fascism in their own government. They say they want a different future. And according to your headline, some of them say they can picture a future in which Palestinians are free and the two peoples share the land.
These aren’t voices from abroad. They’re Israelis, in the streets of their own country, rejecting the direction of their government at a moment when the whole region was watching the vote.
Israel’s own election showed a country sharply divided, with no bloc able to claim a majority in the exit polls. The people in the streets know that the future of Palestinians and Israelis is tied together, and that no one is free while an entire people lives under occupation and siege.
What they’re saying out loud, the world should be listening to.

Young Israelis: This country has been like fascist for a long time. Obviously, after, 60 years of prolonged military occupation, the occupation eventually bleeds in to the civil life of the country. And we can’t deny the fact that Israel was built on ethnic cleansing in and of itself. It requires violence. So, of course, the left wing of Zionism has forced, has made itself to be less and less effective as time goes on. There is an alternative. There’s a socialist alternative to everything. We can see Palestinian liberation in the future. The situation is dire in Gaza and the West Bank, its daily horrors and violence committed by Israeli forces be it the army or settlers in the West Bank in Arab cities in Israel there’s extreme racism. They don’t get all the options that we do to live a normal life. There’s discrimination and there’s ongoing violence in the Arab cities that is just going untreated completely, by the Israeli government that’s doing nothing to stop it and to try to control it.
