“God Gave This Land to the Jewish People”: Israeli Anti-Zionist Creator Presses IDF Soldier on Equality for Palestinians

AN IDF SOLDIER, A CLOSED CHECKPOINT, AND THE EXCUSE FOR EVERYTHING: “GOD GAVE US THIS LAND”
The Salukie stands at a checkpoint that’s shut and asks a soldier what equality means. Behind them, people from nearby villages are blocked from entering Jerusalem to pray.
The soldier’s answer isn’t law. It isn’t security. It isn’t human rights. It’s: “God gave the land of Israel to the Jewish people.”
When The Salukie reminds him that the land was somebody else’s home for at least a thousand years, he doesn’t argue the history. He just repeats it. He even admits the government isn’t religious, and that the argument has to be “based in modern reality,” and then goes right on making the religious case anyway.
Then comes the line that exposes the logic behind the whole system: when Israel is strong, Palestinians “just back off and go to the other 28 Arab countries.”
Think about what that means. A man in uniform, in charge of a roadblock that keeps people from their place of worship, tells a camera that Palestinians should simply go away.
It’s the same belief that justifies the closures, the settlements and the demolitions: that this land belongs to one people, and the others are a problem to be moved. He says it with a smile, because nobody at that checkpoint has ever made him answer for it.
Soldiers like him are the face of an occupation where a closed gate and a Bible verse count as a policy. Equality doesn’t exist in his answer, only a hierarchy.
Palestinians didn’t choose to be stuck at that gate. And neither did the world, which keeps funding the people who built it.
SHAME!!

Ted Cruz: If, God forbid, this guy gets elected to the Senate, you are granted the highest level security clearance. And if I am correct that he is a passionate supporter of the Muslim Brotherhood, there is a very real risk that Americans will die as a result.
Prem Thakker: So Ted Cruz wants to talk about security clearances and Americans dying. Okay. Ted Cruz, the guy who flew to Cancun while millions of people in his own state of Texas were left without power and water during the winter disaster. A storm that reportedly left up to 700 people dead. Ted Cruz, a top supporter of Israel, a country whose soldiers and terrorist settlers have killed at least 15 Americans since 2003 and assaulted many more. Several in the past few weeks, by the way, including a Jewish American journalist. A country that trapped American doctors, including from Texas in Gaza. A country holding multiple American teenagers in prison, including one with roots to Ted Cruz’s own state of Texas. He’s such a fan. Israel even sponsors advertisements on his podcast. His support for Israel goes so deep that he’s been an automatic cheerleader for the war on Iran that Israel dragged the US into, to the point that he didn’t even apparently know how many people lived in the country that he wants to overthrow.
Tucker Carlson: How many people live in Iran, by the way?
Ted Cruz:I don’t know the population.
Tucker Carlson: At all?
Ted Cruz: No, I don’t know the population.
Tucker Carlson: You don’t know the population of the country you seek to topple?
Prem Thakker: A guy who didn’t even know the population of Iran while supporting a war on it that made everything way more expensive for Americans here, and killed more than 20 U.S. service members over there, wants to talk about security clearances. It should insult any of you who might be considering voting for a Republican, that this is who the party is scraping the bottom of the barrel for, and rolling out to get your vote. And this wasn’t even all. Ted Cruz also had this to say about James Talarico.
Ted Cruz:If you were to sit down and make a list of the top 1000 adjectives to describe James Talarico, masculine would not be one of them.
Prem Thakker: Ted Cruz, the guy who said that his wife actually laughed when Trump called her ugly, and that his dad laughed when Trump suggested he was involved in JFK’s assassination. A guy who threw his own wife and dad under the bus is telling us about masculinity. I won’t say one way or another, but maybe you could tell me what adjectives you might use to describe Ted Cruz.
