Guardian Documentary Examines Extreme Views Among Israeli Youth Toward Palestinians
October 31, 2026
“WE WILL KILL THEM.” THAT’S WHAT ISRAEL’S FAR RIGHT SOUNDS LIKE WHEN THE CAMERA IS ON.
The Guardian asked young Israelis why they’re voting further right, and two of the answers say everything.
One speaker, with an American accent, says Gaza has to be annexed, and if Palestinians don’t like it: “we will kill them.”
The next calls what’s being done to Palestinians “soft and lackluster.”
Soft. After more than two years of war in Gaza, a death toll in the tens of thousands, a population starved and displaced, and what the world’s top courts and rights groups call war crimes and possible genocide, which Israel denies.
Think about what that tells you. These aren’t hidden messages in some dark forum. This is said on camera, casually, with confidence. They say it because the politicians they admire say it too. Ministers in Israel’s government have openly called for resettling Gaza and pushing out Palestinians. The ICC has issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and his former defense minister over the war. Instead of consequences, the far right keeps gaining power, and a growing share of Israel’s first-time voters are choosing it.
When a government gives killing a respectable name, a new generation learns to say it out loud.
Gaza isn’t a prize to annex. It’s home to two million people. And there’s no “soft” way to destroy it.
The world keeps asking why this happened. It was said in plain sight, and the people with the power to stop it looked away.
Don’t look away. Share this.
