Must Watch: “The Ad Israel Doesn’t Want You to See”
October 31, 2026MUST WATCH: THE AD THAT HAS ISRAEL’S DEFENDERS FURIOUS
This might be the most talked-about political ad of the season, and it does something almost no ad dares to do: it says the quiet part out loud.
A couple shops for groceries and stops at the eggs. “We have to set that $7 aside for killing Palestinians.” Then comes the line that makes the whole thing land: “Don’t we give Israel $4 billion a year anyways? And now we’re giving them another $26 billion. It’s like $161 per person.”
It’s funny. It’s uncomfortable. And it asks the question American politicians avoid: why are billions of tax dollars going to a government accused of war crimes in Gaza, while families are counting every dollar at the supermarket?
It’s the work of Rebellion PAC, backing Abdul El-Sayed’s (@abdulelsayed )Senate run in Michigan, and the reaction proves it hit a nerve. The ADL and Rep. Haley Stevens (@haleybooyah )have attacked it. Cenk Uygur (@cenkuygur )says if you think the ad is antisemitic, “you’re in a cult.”
Whatever you think, it’s working: millions of people are talking about where their money goes.
Watch it. Share it. Ask your representatives the same question.

English Script:
Mehdi Hassan: You’re very, very mad at Hasan Piker, a streamer in California. You say he’s a bigot. He’s this, he’s that. But then you hosted Benjamin Netanyahu at Capitol.
Neera Tanden: When did I do that? 2015 yeah.
Mehdi Hassan: November 2015, a year after he killed 500 kids in Gaza. And you did a very friendly, nice hosting of the prime minister.
Neera Tanden:Did you watch the whole debate?
Mehdi Hassan: I did.
Neera Tanden:Mr. Prime Minister, Mrs. Netanyahu, welcome. We also believe deeply that the US Israel relationship is vital where we progressives can learn lessons from or Americans can learn lessons from Israel. Israel’s military has been very inclusive.
Mehdi Hassan: The interview ended with you saying to him, do you remember how the interview ended?
Neera Tanden: I said that the things…
Mehdi Hassan: You said, what can progressives learn from Israel’s military? It’s been so inclusive to women. A military that has been accused of sexually assaulting women.
Neera Tanden: I agree. I think Benjamin Netanyahu is a horrible person. I wish we did not host him 100%.
Mehdi Hassan: When did you realize you shouldn’t have hosted him?
Neera Tanden: I mean, like, he’s been, like basically acting as a kind of war criminal. So yes, I absolutely regret hosting him.
Mehdi Hassan: Because at the time…
Neera Tanden: We did do it….
Mehdi Hassan: Now, at the time you emailed John Podesta saying Jonathan Levine at Bain Capital is joining our board. So Netanyahu was worth it. Smiley emoji.
Neera Tanden: I don’t remember that. Oh, that’s from Wikileaks, from the Wikileaks effort there.
Mehdi Hassan: Yeah.
Neera Tanden: I mean, I guess what I’d say to you is that it was not my idea to host him.
