Netanyahu ran for office while wanted by the International Criminal Court. In November 2024, the ICC issued arrest warrants for him and his former defense minister over alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity, including starvation as a method of warfare.
In July 2024, the ICJ ruled that Israel’s occupation of Palestinian land is unlawful and must end.
Amnesty, Human Rights Watch, and Israel’s own B’Tselem have all called the system apartheid. B’Tselem’s words: Israel is not a democracy with a temporary occupation attached. It is one regime ruling everyone between the river and the sea.
Millions of Palestinians are ruled by that regime and have never voted in it.
So what do we call a democracy for some and military rule for others?
