THE FACE OF HOPE.
His name is Ameer. He’s just a boy. War took both of his arms but it didn’t take the part of him that still runs onto that field every single day.
Look at him out there, among the tents and the rubble, chasing a ball with his friends like any child anywhere in the world would. No arms to break his fall. No arms to celebrate a goal with. And still — he plays. Still, he laughs. Still, he insists on being a kid, in a place that has tried everything to take that away from him.
This is what resilience actually looks like. Not a headline. Not a statistic. A child who lost more than most of us can imagine, and chose joy anyway.
Ameer didn’t choose this war. He didn’t choose to lose his arms. But every time he steps onto that field, he chooses hope for himself, and for every child watching him do it.
Some things war can take. It couldn’t take this.
