SHE WAS CARRYING HER DREAMS.
18-year-old Raghad Ashour left home believing she was heading toward her future. Instead, she never made it to her high school examination.
According to reports from Gaza, Israeli forces targeted a civilian vehicle west of Gaza City with three consecutive missiles, killing Raghad as she travelled to sit her final secondary school exams.
The devastation is made even more heartbreaking by the words of her grieving mother:
“”My only daughter, my flower… We slept on the same pillow side by side. She’s gone. Why?””
Raghad had already lost her father earlier in the war. Now her mother has lost her only child. An entire family erased. An entire future stolen.
She should have been sitting an exam. Instead, her mother is attending her funeral.
