Former Shin Bet Chief Ami Ayalon Says the Idea That Iran Would Surrender Is “Crazy”

Even former Israeli intelligence chiefs are now stating what Palestinians and human rights advocates have said for decades: the belief that military brutality, occupation, and genocide will force Palestinian resistance or Iran to “surrender” is a complete delusion.
Speaking on Jung & Naiv, former Shin Bet head Ami Ayalon dismantled the arrogance of Israeli political and military leadership:
The ongoing tragedy in Gaza proves that occupation cannot purchase security, and no amount of high-tech violence will ever destroy the Palestinian right to exist and resist.
Decades of illegal occupation, ethnic cleansing, and military force have failed to break the spirit of the Palestinian people. Victory cannot be built on the genocide of a nation.

Anybody who understands the enemy, everybody who knows something about the history of the Shia and the Karbala battle in the seventh century will tell you that they will not surrender. If you do not know the enemy, you will never be able to win. We don’t understand our enemies. I’ll say it again. Although many people believe that I am a traitor, if I were a Palestinian, I would fight against the Israeli occupation. I will never accept the Hamas ideas. But against the occupation, in order to achieve my freedom. And I will end with every statement. Israeli state and every military commander who will give you a different answer. He is either too stupid or he just do not know his enemy and he will never win this war. You don’t know the Bible and you know some sun tzu. Okay.
