“Do You Believe Israel Has the Right to Exist?” Fox News Sunday Puts the Question Front and Center
October 27, 2026
Via @foxnews : Oliver Larkin, a Democratic candidate in Florida’s 25th Congressional District, in an interview before the August primary.
He called the current configuration of Israel “a religious supremacist” system that privileges Jewish citizens above Palestinians.
He pointed to the West Bank, under occupation since 1967, where Israeli settlers live under civilian law and Palestinians are subject to military courts, with what he says is a conviction rate of upwards of 95%. “A two-tiered system of justice.”
Asked about cutting off even defensive weapons, he didn’t hedge. “I do not make a distinction between offensive and defensive weaponry.”
His reasoning: he says UN inquiries, Amnesty International and Israeli rights groups including B’Tselem have described what Israel is doing as genocide and apartheid, charges Israel rejects. He argues that US law, the Leahy Laws, already bars military aid to foreign forces accused of gross human rights violations, so “we’re in violation of our own law right now.”
His bottom line: “At minimum, we need to condition this aid. But if it were up to me, I do not think that we should be aiding and abetting a genocide by either providing taxpayer-funded weaponry or selling it.”
Say what you want about his politics. That’s a candidate saying on Fox News exactly what the polls suggest a growing share of voters believe.
HE SAID WHAT MOST POLITICIANS ARE TOO AFRAID TO SAY.

Interviewer: Do you believe Israel has a right to exist?
Oliver Larkin: I think that Israel should be a secular and democratic state with equal rights for all people. And the current configuration of the State of Israel is a religious supremacist, one that privileges Jewish citizens above Palestinians. And we see a two tiered system of justice in the West Bank that’s been under illegal occupation since 1967, with illegal West Bank, Israeli settlers under Israeli civil law and Palestinians who have called this their ancestral home, being subject to Israeli military law with upwards of a 95% conviction rate. So, the two tiered system of justice, the two tiered political system in Israel is not one that I think the United States should be supportive of, if we believe in upholding democracy, not just here, but around the world.
Interviewer: Do you think that we should cut off defensive weapons, either by purchase or by supplying them to Israel Defense of weapons?
Oliver Larkin: I do not make a distinction between offensive and defensive weaponry. Israel has been rightfully attributed as committing a genocide and apartheid virtually. Every international body that has studied this issue from the United Nations multiple inquiries, the Amnesty International group, even Israeli human rights organizations including Beth Salem and, when the United States is in violation of not just international law but our own law, the Leahy laws that prohibit the Department of State and Department of Defense from providing military assistance to foreign security forces accused of gross human rights violations. We’re in violation of our own law right now. And so, at minimum, we need to condition this aid. But if it were up to me, I do not think that we should be aiding and abetting a genocide by either providing taxpayer funded weaponry or selling it.
