BELGIAN OFFICIALS CALL OUT E.U. COMPLICITY IN ISRAELI MASSACRES

Belgian Foreign Minister Hadja Lahbib, and Belgian Member of the EU, Marc Botenga spoke out against the EU’s ongoing complicity in the atrocities being committed by Israel in Gaza and the West Bank yesterday.
“The massacre of Palestinians would be impossible without the support of EU countries,”Marc Botenga, Belgian Member of the EU Parliament stated.
“It is not about being pro-Palestinian or pro-Israeli. It’s about standing firmly for international law and being pro-peace & pro-human rights,”Hadja Lahbib, the Belgian Foreign Minister says.
The EU, similar to the USA has played a critical role in providing Israel with political cover and impunity for its decades-long violence, persecution, extremist apartheid treatment of the Palestinians. Most members do not recognise Palestinian statehood despite now 142 out of 193 nations around the world acknowledging Palestinian statehood.
While Spain, Malta, Slovenia, Ireland and Belgium last month announced their intentions to fully recognise Palestinian statehood by the summer of 2024, most other European nations and the EU remain firmly in the pocket of the Zionists, endorsing and enabling a genocide and ethnic cleasing.

Marc Botenga: Today in Gaza, every day, we discover mass graves, which are the symbol of all genocides. Hundreds of bodies, sometimes in medical uniform, sometimes apparently handcuffed, and executed roughly. We see images of children torn around a baby foot. And what is the European Union doing about that? There are colleagues here who have the courage to support Israel. Frankly, be ashamed, go home and don’t go out anymore. But especially the European Union, what is it doing? It promised additional millions to Israel. It has not imposed arms embargoes. Yet it can do it, because in recent years, we have imposed military sanctions on Belarus, the Central African Republic, to China, to Iran, to Libya, to Myanmar, to North Korea, to Russia, to Somalia, to Sudan, to South Sudan, to Syria, to Venezuela, to Turkey, to Yemen, to Zimbabwe. But Israel, no. They are immunized. They are immunized, why? Because their colonial project is supported by European imperialism. It must be said, in fact, with weapons and with millions of dollars. And that is why the massacre of the Palestinians would not be possible without the ongoing European complicity.
Hadja Lahbib: The time to de-escalate is now ,the time for peace and a two state solution is now. It is not about being pro-Palestinian or pro-Israeli. It is about standing firmly in favor of international law. It’s about being pro-peace. It’s about being pro human rights. I think that this is the moment to take all the different initiatives together to have the Israelis and the Palestinians towards the only sustainable political option. The two states solution. A regional escalation will be detrimental not only for the parties immediately involved, but also for all of our citizens.
